Courtney Currie, Founder

Courtney is a wife, mother of 2 active boys, Christ follower, special needs advocate, dyslexia specialist, and reading teacher. She and her family moved to Texas after living in Chicago for more than 20 years, and now reside in McKinney. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelors in rehabilitation studies and social work. While living in Chicago, Courtney went on to obtain a masters degree in social work and special education.  

Over the last 20 years, Courtney has worked as a special education teacher, case manager, and counselor for Chicago Public Schools and McKinney ISD. Most recently, Courtney has worked as a Reading Specialist and Dyslexia Therapist. 

Courtney believes in a whole child approach to education and wellness. We cannot simply focus on academics without also pouring into the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the child on children and family dynamics. She is passionate about helping children  find their voice, use their gifts, and create the skills necessary for a bright and successful future.
